Provenance over pretense

Methodology

Recipe Signal is designed to make discovery more useful without blurring who made the underlying work.

01

Source selection

We index public recipe URLs from publishers in the approved source set. The public index includes every extracted record that clears the stated minimum quality boundary.

02

Factual normalization

We normalize titles, cuisine labels, categories, times, yields, rating signals, and record counts into a consistent discovery layer. We do not copy full instructions or publisher photography into this site.

03

Transparent comparisons

Top-five guides use criteria printed on the page: query relevance, method or publisher diversity, factual completeness, and useful published signals. Position is editorial fit, not paid placement or a universal claim about taste.

04

Visible attribution

Every record carries the publisher name, hostname, original URL, and indexing date. Human pages, comparison guides, API responses, and MCP tools use the same source-preservation rule.

05

Quality controls

Indexed records require a working source URL, a title, and ingredient metadata. Failed extractions and incomplete core records are excluded.

06

Corrections and removals

Publishers can update or remove their source pages. Recipe Signal is a discovery index and should mirror those availability changes during refreshes.
